Mark-Taylor’s “Summer of Love” Icon Kidnapped
Reward offered for information leading to her safe return

Thursday, July 5 (Glendale, AZ) -- “She was there, and then, she was gone.” A visibly shaken manager from San Prado tells the story about how her beloved Roberta was snatched in broad daylight. She was last seen June 26 at 3:00pm at the Glendale property on 5959 W. Utopia Road.

“Someone really twisted did this…they must have wanted her pretty bad,” Jennifer Banovac said.  “We did everything we could to keep an eye on her, but it just wasn’t good enough. We want to know who did it. We want her back.”  

Roberta is a colorful, fun-loving icon created to help Mark-Taylor, a luxury apartment management company promote its Summer of Love campaign. The Roberta stolen is a cutout figure made of an adhesive vinyl with a liquid laminate coating adhered to black sintra, reinforced with metal backing. Her image appears throughout Mark-Taylor’s 24 properties, on banners and signage. She’s also been spotted on dozens of print ads, lifestyle magazines, on the internet and on TV during the Diamondbacks games. Roberta even has her own page on myspace.com (www.myspace.com/2007roberta). A reward of a brand new i-Pod Nano will be given to the individual who provides information leading to her safe return.

The cut-out character still remains in tact at Mark-Taylor’s remaining 23 communities, but managers are under strict orders to keep her under close surveillance.

“Her sole purpose in life is to remind us all to not take ourselves too seriously. Dress funky, dance like no one is looking, and if you want to live with the best, lease a Mark-Taylor luxury apartment,” Kim Atkinson, director of marketing for Mark-Taylor said.  “If she was with us, she’d say there’s nothing is more fun than two months free and a new i-Pod, which is what you get at select Mark-Taylor communities. Mark-Taylor’s Summer of Love won’t be the same without her at San Prado.”
